Immunization Requirements

If your child will be entering preschool, kindergarten or Grades 6-12, there are new immunization requirements for the 2010-2011 school year. They are:

Preschool or kindergarten (preschool students include those attending a special education program, childcare, or preschool program with the school):

• Two varicella (chickenpox) vaccinations (not needed if child has documentation of having had chicken pox)

Entering Grades 6-12:

• Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis vaccine. (Also called Tdap.)
• Menigococcal conjugate vaccine. (Also called MCV4-Menactra.)
• Two varicella (chickenpox) vaccinations (not needed if child has documentation of having had chicken pox)

These shots are in addition to those previously required.

Bradford Woods Field Trip

The 7th grade will be going on an OPTIONAL field trip to Bradford Woods on September 23-24, 2010 this coming Fall.  We are informing you of this opportunity in advance because the payment for this activity is early in the school year. We will be spending one night and two days there.  The total cost is $110 per person.  Final payment is due on September 1, 2010.  No other spending money is needed for this trip.  Only 7th grade students will be attending the trip.  At this time no chaperones are needed.

We encourage you to have your child earn part of the money for this trip over the summer. 

Students participating will NOT be allowed to attend for the following reasons:

• Receiving a referral from any teacher for any reason since the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.
• Receiving an 8 day letter for attendance.
• Failure to turn in the permission slip and money by September 1, 2010.
• Trip would be hazardous to the student.

We will be distributing more information including the permission slip a the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.
